OnePlus Nord 2 launched: Comes with powerful Dimensity 1200 5G chipset

The OnePlus Nord 2 has been unveiled and it carries on its shoulders a weight of expectation and hype thanks to how well-received it predecessor was.

The device comes with a 6.43-inch FHD+ Fluid AMOLED 90 Hz panel, that has support for HDR10+; no changes here compared to the original OnePlus Nord. What is different is the exclusion of a dual selfie camera bump – and in its place, just a regular, single-lens module.

Under the hood is where you’ll find bigger changes – for one, the chipset used in this device is a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 5G SoC, which is comparable to the Snapdragon 865 flagship chip from last year. This is a big upgrade over the original Nord’s mid-range Snapdragon 765G chip.

For memory and storage, the Nord 2 offers up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There’s a 4,500mAh battery, along with support for 65W of Warp Charge fast charging.

For imaging, the Nord 2 uses a Sony 50MP IMX766 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide shooter, and a 2MP mono lens. For selfies, you get a 32MP camera.

The phone comes in three colours – Gray Sierra which is matte, Blue Haze, and Green Woods which is an option that’s exclusively available in India. The phone costs EUR399 (about RM1,985) for the 8GB+128GB model, and EUR499 (about RM2,482) for the 12GB+256GB model.

There is no word yet one when it’ll arrive in the country, but do stick around on our website as we bring you more updates.
