Yesterday, Samsung announced their newest addition into the A series with the Galaxy Tab A8. This tablet is Samsung’s newest mid-ranger that has an improved screen, better battery, and a faster chip, compared to the previous Tab A7. So let’s see what else this device has in store.

The design looks very similar to its predecessor with a similar back panel that comes in a thin and light form factor measuring 6.9mm thick and weighs 508 grams. This tablet also has three color options – Gray, Silver, and Pink Gold.

This tablet has a 10.5-inch FHD+ TFT LCD Display with an 80 percent screen-to-body ratio, while for the speaker setup, you get 4 speakers with Dolby Atmos support so that you are ensured a great listening experience with this device.

In terms of hardware, the chipset for the Galaxy Tab A8 was not revealed, but it was said that the device will have a 10% increase in CPU and GPU performance compared to the Tab A7. But what we do know is that this tablet will come with three storage variations – 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, and 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage with expandable storage up to 1TB via a microSD card.

As for the cameras, you are getting an 8MP main camera on the back with a round design rather than the squared one on the Tab A7, as well as a 5MP front camera that is housed on the bezel on the display. While for the battery, the Galaxy Tab A8 will have a 7,040mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging.

Right now, Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 is set to arrive in Europe later this month and will be released globally sometime in January 2022. In terms of the price, it is expected to retail at €230 (roughly RM1,099), similar to last year’s Galaxy Tab A7.
