TCL Thunderbird Smart Glasses Pioneer Edition unveiled: Displays full colours using micro-LED panels

Perhaps more well-known for their TV panels, TCL reckons they can compete in the smart-eyewear market as well with the launch of the Thunderbird Smart Glasses Pioneer Edition

The device packs micro-LED displays – each pixel only measures 4 µm in size, and according to a report by GSM Arena, TCL has managed to allow the glasses to show full-colour images as opposed to monochrome ones like on Xiaomi’s Smart Glasses.

As expected of a pair of smart glasses – the Thunderbird will allow wearers to read notifications and news, check schedules, and control smart home devices all through the device itself.

It also comes equipped with a camera that sit near the bridge of the nose – it can be used to take pictures, and presumably also used for navigation.

We don’t know how much these glasses will cost, but considering the TCL NxtWear – the brand’s other wearable display – cost 899 AUD (about RM2,774); so we can expect the Thunderbird to demand a higher price since it packs better hardware.
